Purelements' PROJECT AIRE currently offers four distinctive programs which both showcase our ongoing commitment to artistic excellence and exposure, combined with a culturally contextualized, youth-accessible and inspiring educational experience. Whether you seek specialized intensives in advanced dance topics, or a way to promote arts awareness in your school community, our programs offer an integrative opportunity for accelerated and engaging learning:
PROGRAMS
"TELLING OUR STORIES"
Incorporating all of the artistic disciplines, this residency uses relevant issues in youth's lives to create a full-length piece. It allows students to discover, understand and employ their own creative processes, exposes students to a range of professional opportunities in performance and theater, and promotes a greater sense of school community.
"TRADITIONS OF THE AFRICAN DIASPORA"
From Senegalese dance, to capoeira, to the Watusi, to the moonwalk, this residency studies the basic movement qualities inherent to the diaspora, and uses historical and cultural contexts to demonstrate how and why the movement evolved from the African continent to peoples throughout the world.
"AMERICAN SOCIAL DANCE"
This residency explores the way historical and cultural events influenced the way that Americans danced in social settings, from the turn of the 20th century to today's current trends.
"ARTS EXPERIENCE"
This residency introduces students to the joy of movement and or other artistic forms, such as, Theater, Music, and Visual Arts; using rhythmic and coordination exercises, the incorporation of youth development themes of cooperation, community building, responsibility, and self-discovery, and exploration of creativity in a supportive environment. Based upon your school's specific needs and budget, PROJECT AIRE can work with your classroom teachers and/or arts coordinator to design a unique program which meets the specific needs of your students.
